Daily reading assignments from CSIA’s Successful Chimney Sweeping, the NFPA 211 and the International Residential Code coincide with four online lessons and interactive quizzes designed to help you pass the CCS exam. When you enroll in one of the monthly online review sessions, you get the entire week to complete the four lessons and quizzes. Whether you’re a morning-person or have more afternoons or evenings free, the online Certified Chimney Sweep review is available to you around-the-clock for the five day duration. CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps earn 10 CEUs upon completion of this course! (2.5 H&S, 2.5C&S, 2.5C&L and 2.5 T)

To earn the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep credential, individuals must now pass two exams:
The first is a one-hour closed-book exam based on the Successful Chimney Sweeping (2009 edition) and the NFPA 211 (2010 edition). The second is a one-hour open-book exam based on the International Residential Code (2006 edition). Candidates for the exam must bring their copy of the IRC to the testing site in order to complete the exam.
Additionally, first time CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep candidates are required to attend either an in-person or online review session to become eligible to sit for the exam set. Once candidates have completed the online review session, most schedule proctored exams. The exams are available both in paper and online versions.
