Daily reading assignments from CSIA’s Successful Chimney Sweeping and the NFPA 211 coincide with four online lessons and interactive quizzes designed to help you pass the CCS exam. When you enroll in one of the monthly online review sessions, you get the entire week to complete the four lessons and quizzes. Whether you’re a morning-person or have more afternoons or evenings free, the online Certified Chimney Sweep review is available to you around-the-clock for the five day duration. About the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep Exam
The CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep exam is a 100-question multiple-choice exam based on CSIA's Successful Chimney Sweeping manual and the NFPA 211: Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances. The exam is not currently available online. College and university testing centers and CSIA Approved Proctors are permitted to administer the exam.
About the Annual Maintenance Fee
Please note that upon earning the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep® credential, your certification is valid for three years from your exam date and requires the payment of an annual maintenance fee of $249 (or $199 for NCSG members). This fee will be invoiced annually at the start of years two and three of your three-year term. In the event that the annual maintenance fee is not paid, all rights and privileges of holding the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep® credential will be considered inactive until such a time as payment is made in full. The annual maintenance fee is allocated toward administration of the program, marketing of the credential to the public and related industries, debt reduction, certification program development and enhancements and aggressive protection of the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep® trademark.
