Meeting Conducted Via Teleconference
President Brooks called the meeting of the Chimney Safety Institute of America Board of Directors to order at 10: 05 a.m.
Directors Present: Eric Adair, Randy Brooks, Robert Huta, Howard Rowell, Steve Pietila, John Pilger, Bo Tasso, Tom Urban, Jay Walker
Directors Absent: John Meredith
Staff Present:Mark McSweeney, Melissa Heeke, Judy Thompson, Ashley Eldridge, Royal Edwards, Sara Sichting, Vicki Barton, Debbie Cornelius, Art Garrett
A discussion was held regarding the board policy regarding the administration of CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep renewals for those who have not paid annual maintenance fees.
A motion was made by Steve Pietila and seconded by Eric Adair to modify the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep credential from a three-year certification to a one-year certification with testing or CEU submission required every third year. Voting in favor: Eric Adair, Robert Huta, Steve Pietila, John Pilger, Bo Tasso, Tom Urban and Jay Walker. Motion carries.
A discussion was held regarding potentially applying a cost of living increase to the CCS fees in the future. The topic was tabled until the annual planning meeting in May 2009 when current financial information can be reviewed.
A motion was made by Bo Tasso and seconded by Steve Pietila to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor: All in favor. Motion carries.
